Candles are something most homes accessorise with, but they often have non-vegan ingredients which many do not know. The guilty ingredient is usually 'stearic acid' which, as some will know, comes from animal fats. Stearic acid is mostly found in paraffin / mineral candles which most of the big candle names use as their main or blended wax. Its a cheap wax sold at high prices.
Exploiting animal byproducts like stearic acid has both an ethical issue and also exacerbates the negative environmental impacts on animal agriculture.

Sustainable & renewable
Created from a hybrid blende of two sustainable resources Rapeseed & Coconut, this wax is sustainable and environmentally friendly. It is however much more expensive than mineral waxes. Rapeseed & Coconut are very well known for the extraction of their oils, this vegetable wax is one of the references in the world of scented candles. Our wicks are made from cotton to help reduce ghastly sooting in comparison to mineral waxes. When you have finished burning your candle; the 10mm residue at the bottom of the container can be washed away because it is a vegetable blend and the glass can be repurposed. Vegetable wax will never give you a completely smooth surface when its cold, so don't worry, it will not impact on the burn or scent of your candle and is something to embrace with the knowledge you are not burning a mineral wax.
